Greater Engagement & Accessibility in Mathematical Sciences

Chalmers University of Technology, through its Department of Mathematical Sciences with the University of Gothenburg, needed a more interactive and accessible way to deliver mathematics course material and help a rapidly growing number of students improve their math skills. DigitalEd’s Mobius platform was adopted to support online tests and assignments for summer courses and regular campus classes.

DigitalEd implemented Mobius to administer, deliver, and grade assessments with flexible authoring tools, algorithmically generated questions, and immediate feedback for students. The results were significant: in summer 2015, more than 500,000 questions were administered through nearly 70,000 test sets, representing increases of 50% and 42% year over year. Mobius also scaled to support 3,000 additional users and is now used in regular campus courses at both universities.
