Finland’s largest hospital district, HUS employs digital workers delivered from Azure

HUS, Finland's largest hospital district, faced significant financial pressures and sought to free its healthcare staff from tedious back-office tasks to better focus on patient care. To address this challenge, they partnered with Digital Workforce, selecting their flexible and scalable Robot as a Service solution.

Digital Workforce implemented an Azure-based cloud RPA service, the first of its kind in the EU for regulated clinical processes. This solution automated key tasks like processing radiology requests and managing patient referrals, which reduced human error, sped up lead times, and freed staff for higher-value work. The measurable impact included having 48 automated processes in production by Spring 2019, with a goal of 100 by year's end, directly supporting national objectives to cut operational costs while improving service quality.
