A Development Dimensions International Case Study
UNFI, a leading national distributor of natural, organic, and specialty foods, needed to strengthen leadership skills across its 350 leaders and improve retention in high-turnover selector roles. Development Dimensions International (DDI) was brought in to help with leadership development and a more consistent hiring approach, including behavioral interviewing for frontline warehouse jobs.
Development Dimensions International implemented DDI’s Interaction Management leadership courses, OPAL online learning support, and Targeted Selection behavioral interviewing system. The program helped create a common leadership language, improved skill application through follow-up reviews, and standardized hiring across 21 distribution centers; less than a year later, UNFI reported a stronger infrastructure to support growth and more selective hiring for longer-term employees.
