A Development Dimensions International Case Study
Technip Malaysia, part of the oil and gas industry, was struggling to select, develop, and retain talent in a highly competitive market. The company faced a rising turnover rate, especially among mid-level managers and experienced engineers, and needed a more systematic talent management approach. Development Dimensions International worked with Technip Malaysia to build its first talent management program in the Asia Pacific region, including competency profiling, behavioral interviewing, and leadership development.
Development Dimensions International implemented competency profiles for 31 roles, introduced Targeted Selection® behavioral interviewing, and delivered leadership courses from its Interaction Management® system. The results were significant: turnover fell from 18% in 2006 to 5% in 2008, career paths and performance management became clearer, leader behavior improved, and hiring decisions became more evidence-based and aligned to job fit.
