A Development Dimensions International Case Study
SunTrust, the banking subsidiary of SunTrust Banks, needed a way to strengthen thousands of frontline managers during the recession, when leaders were under intense pressure to guide teams through uncertainty, support employees, and maintain client confidence. To address this challenge, SunTrust partnered with Development Dimensions International and used its Interaction Management®: Exceptional Leaders series to launch Manager Academy for first- and second-level managers.
Development Dimensions International implemented a three-day, interactive leadership program with DDI-trained facilitators, self-assessments, on-the-job application between sessions, and follow-up resources for graduates. The results were strong: more than 2,000 leaders were developed, participants gave the program a 4.7 out of 5 rating, over three-quarters said they could practice and apply new skills, and SunTrust reported a 16% increase in teammate engagement over two years.
