A Development Dimensions International Case Study
Gilbane Group, a large family-owned construction and real-estate development firm, faced a leadership succession challenge as experienced leaders approached retirement and many rising managers lacked the soft skills needed to coach and develop others. Working with Development Dimensions International, the company used Leadership Mirror® and the Interaction Management® leadership development system to build a stronger leadership pipeline.
Development Dimensions International helped Gilbane Group create a multi-level leadership program through Gilbane University, including courses for current and emerging leaders, a new-manager program, and ongoing follow-up and coaching. The results were strong: more than 700 leaders were developed, effective-leader ratings rose from 78% to 89%, and work-group productivity increased by more than 50%, along with gains in morale, collaboration, communication, and retention.
