CUNA Mutual Group, a leading provider of financial products and services to credit unions, was facing a shifting marketplace, growing competition, and the need to develop leaders who could drive cultural and strategic change. To address this, the company partnered with Development Dimensions International and used its Strategic Leadership Experience® (SLE) as part of a broader succession management and leadership development initiative.
Development Dimensions International implemented the SLE, an intensive business simulation with assessments, peer feedback, coaching, and executive involvement to build strategic leadership skills. The program helped CUNA Mutual develop about four dozen leaders in 14 months, strengthen its leadership pipeline, improve promotion decisions, and give participants individual development plans and cross-enterprise networks.
