Brookdale, a major U.S. senior living operator, needed a more consistent, culture-aligned hiring process for key leadership roles such as executive directors, health and wellness directors, and sales managers. To address hiring inconsistency and the business disruption caused by turnover, Brookdale partnered with Development Dimensions International to improve its interviewing approach using DDI’s Targeted Selection® behavioral interviewing system.

Development Dimensions International implemented Targeted Selection® and Success ProfilesSM to standardize interviews, build custom guides, and train more than 200 leaders, with training expanding across the company. The results included a 38.3% drop in first-year turnover for the targeted roles, an estimated $3.7 million reduction in annual turnover costs, and at least a 300% return on investment; survey data also showed 84% of interviewers felt more effective after training.
