Solaray, America’s sunglass company, needed a better way to route and schedule deliveries across a complex network of more than 25,000 retail locations. Its manually planned four-week routing process limited visibility, reduced efficiency, and made it difficult to keep customers informed about delivery timing. With Descartes Route Planner On-demand and strategic route modelling, Solaray optimized daily execution and long-term route planning for 56 service representatives. The result was a shorter delivery work week, moving from five days to four, plus improved customer service and visibility. Descartes helped Solaray cut more than 80,000 miles driven annually, lower transportation costs, and add about 200 stores to its territory while increasing delivery frequency.
