Sanimax Keeping Recycling Efforts on Schedule with Descartes

Sanimax, a North American recycler of foodservice and agricultural by-products, needed a more efficient way to manage dynamic pickups and deliveries for its Ontario restaurant services fleet. The company was spending too much time manually setting up routes, lacked visibility into driver activity, and was seeing wasted mileage and rising delivery costs. To address this, Sanimax turned to Descartes Routing and Planning Solution.

With Descartes, Sanimax automated weekly route planning, improved route optimization, and gained better visibility into operations. The result was a reduction of about 8 to 10 driving hours per driver per week, fewer unnecessary stops, improved truck utilization, and lower customer service costs from reduced call volume. Sanimax also laid the groundwork for future growth and plans to expand the Descartes deployment across other regions in Canada.
