Magnus Fine Wines, a Belgian wine importer, distributor, and home/business delivery company, needed a better way to manage about 250 daily deliveries. Its dispatchers were planning routes manually from printed order forms, which was time-consuming and error-prone. Magnus chose Descartes’ route planning solution to automate daily delivery planning and improve service.

Descartes implemented an integrated routing solution connected to Magnus’ accounting software and custom phone application, enabling orders to flow directly into the planning system. The result was a fully automated delivery process with less paper handling, fewer errors, better control and real-time visibility, and the ability to accept last-minute orders up to 30 minutes before planning was complete. The implementation took only a few days and data conversion went smoothly.
