Kodak, the iconic imaging technology company, needed a way to standardize procurement and supply chain processes across a complex global operation with multiple EDI protocols. Its existing B2B integration efforts were costly and required significant IT resources, while manual paper invoice processing and limited shipment visibility created inefficiencies. Kodak turned to Descartes and its B2B Integration™ solution to better connect purchase orders, acknowledgements, ASNs, and invoicing with its SAP ERP system.

Descartes implemented a direct integration with Kodak’s SAP platform to automate purchase order processing, item receipts, and vendor invoice creation while improving ASN visibility and barcode-based inbound labeling. The results included 100% PO and PO change acknowledgements, about US$1 million in annual cost savings, 120,000 invoices automated each year, 25,000 more invoices cleared, and roughly 12,000 man-hours reduced.
