Geodis Wilson AMS and 10+2: Moving into the Future by the Numbers

Geodis Wilson, a global logistics provider, needed to adapt quickly to new U.S. and Canadian Customs rules requiring shipment data to be filed 24 hours before vessel loading. The company had to move away from relying on carriers for filing and prepare for AMS and later 10+2 compliance, with strict deadlines and penalties for incomplete or late submissions.

Working with Descartes, Geodis Wilson implemented a direct filing approach using Descartes’ AMS/customs compliance capabilities and built new workflows, interfaces, and error-handling processes across air and ocean freight. The rollout followed a four-phase plan to support AMS first and then 10+2, helping Geodis Wilson streamline compliance, improve data handling, and create a foundation for future operational savings and expanded service opportunities.
