CryoService Plans for the Future with Descartes

CryoService, a UK-based provider of cryogenic and specialty gases, needed to modernize its route-planning technology to better prepare for the future and improve responsiveness to customers. The company had already been using Descartes Route Planner RS for years, but wanted greater flexibility, better use of planning knowledge, and the ability to handle urgent last-minute deliveries more effectively.

Descartes implemented Route Planner as a fully integrated solution with CryoService’s order management and customer service systems, as well as its CORS demand-forecasting application. The result was live, real-time delivery information, automated load balancing, and schedules that can be planned up to two weeks in advance. CryoService now handles about 650 deliveries each weekday with improved visibility, faster responses to urgent orders, and self-correcting routes.
