Coca-Cola Korea Improves on Customer Service & Operations

Coca-Cola Korea Bottling Company, owned by Coca-Cola Amatil, is a leading beverage company in South Korea that had to manage highly fluctuating demand while keeping distribution costs under control. Working with Descartes and its Sales & Territory Planner routing and scheduling solution, the company sought to reduce stock-outs across its 120-plus SKUs and improve delivery performance across a large private fleet and customer base.

Descartes helped Coca-Cola Korea overhaul its sales and distribution processes by optimizing territories, routes, service frequencies, and load capacity. The results included a 13% increase in delivery capacity, 11% fewer vehicles required, a 30% reduction in distance driven per truck, and fewer out-of-stocks and returns, leading to better customer service and lower costs.
