Bilfinger Global IT GmbH, the global IT service company for Bilfinger SE, needed to modernize IT monitoring by consolidating and centralizing service alerting, improving on-call scheduling, and replacing Lotus Notes-based duty management. The company also wanted better integration with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and a more effective way to calculate compensation for on-call duties. Derdack’s Enterprise Alert was chosen to help address these challenges.

Derdack implemented Enterprise Alert to route SCOM alerts to the right teams, enrich them with CMDB data, and deliver notifications based on user preferences via email, IM, push, and mobile app. It also provided drag-and-drop on-call scheduling and automated monthly compensation calculations that were exported to SAP for payroll processing. Bilfinger Global IT reported improved transparency, stronger alert handling, and significantly higher productivity in IT operations through automation of previously manual tasks.
