Sitka is a Victoria-based lifestyle and outdoor apparel brand focused on environmental responsibility, operating flagship stores and community education centres in Canada and New Zealand. As the business expanded — including a new Education Centre in Auckland with a small rotating team — rostering was handled on paper, forcing managers to print, re-key and email schedules, which was time-consuming, error-prone and made wage tracking difficult.
Sitka implemented Deputy integrated with Vend to automate scheduling, link labour to sales, and eliminate double-entry. Schedules are built weekly and pushed to staff via mobile or email, employees sign in/out for accurate hours, and tasking keeps daily duties on track — resulting in major time savings on rostering and payroll, easier end-of-week wage calculations, better visibility of labour costs versus sales, and a roll-out to North American stores underway.
