Escapes in Time, an Orem, Utah escape-room business founded in 2016, grew from two employees into a multi-shift operation and found its manual scheduling and “free” timekeeping system could no longer keep up. Owners Lyman and Marilyn were rebuilding schedules from scratch each week, struggled to notify staff or manage trades, and spent several hours every two weeks auditing payroll and chasing updates.

They implemented Deputy to create a reusable master schedule, approve daily hours, enable mobile clock-ins, track time by location, and use a News Feed for company-wide updates. The switch cut payroll finalization by about 2½ hours every two weeks, saved roughly an hour weekly on scheduling, improved accuracy and historical tracking of labor, and boosted staff communication and satisfaction.
