Case Study: Alpha Coffee achieves 16–20 hours/week time savings and rapid growth with Deputy

A Deputy Case Study

Preview of the Alpha Coffee Case Study

Deputy provides the highest level of service for Veteran and military-spouse owners of Alpha Coffee

Alpha Coffee, founded by veteran Carl Churchill and his wife Lori in Utah, is a mission-driven coffee business that started online and expanded into a brick-and-mortar shop to support troops and veterans. After opening their first location they needed a better way to manage scheduling, timesheets, communication and payroll—Google Calendar and texting felt inadequate—so they looked for a purpose-built workforce management solution.

They implemented Deputy across messaging, kiosk and mobile clock-ins, shift trading and QuickBooks payroll exports. The platform saved them about 16–20 hours a week, streamlined payroll and communication, boosted employee engagement (even turning clock-in photos into a team ritual), and gave them the operational scalability to grow quickly—having donated roughly 18,000 bags of coffee and now planning two more locations.
