Vodafone Business, a global provider of 5G, IoT, cloud and security services, needed partners to help its customers meet ambitious sustainability and social-impact goals—reducing CO2 emissions, closing the digital divide and embedding ethical practices. To support those objectives, Vodafone Business partnered with Dell Technologies, leveraging Dell infrastructure to deliver Vodafone Cloud and IoT solutions to customers across regional markets.

Using Dell Technologies’ infrastructure, Vodafone Business deployed connected sensors and the Vodafone Cloud at customers such as Banfi winery to collect plant, soil and meteorological data across ~1,000 hectares. The Dell-enabled solution eliminated local data centers (reducing power and cooling footprint), cut travel-intensive field visits, enabled real-time decision-making to optimize water use and operations, and contributes to Vodafone’s target of helping customers reduce 350 million tonnes of CO2 between 2020–2030 (with 31% of Vodafone’s ~110 million IoT devices already helping lower emissions).
