Versus Arthritis, a UK charity that sent all 400 employees home to work just before the COVID‑19 lockdown in March 2020, needed a swift, simple way to get easy‑to‑use technology to staff so services for beneficiaries wouldn’t be interrupted. They engaged Dell Technologies and asked for a rapid, low‑friction procurement approach using familiar business‑class devices.
Dell Technologies repurposed its Premier Portal into a customised self‑service store offering a limited range of Intel‑based laptops and displays, delivered direct to employees’ homes. The portal was built in days and cut delivery cycles from a minimum of nine days to 48–72 hours, saved thousands of pounds in shipping, reclaimed many IT and procurement hours, enabled direct invoicing into the charity’s finance system, and kept services running without placing financial burden on staff.
