Texas Christian University standardizes on Dell EMC to safeguard critical data while tripling cost savings

Texas Christian University faced corrupted, slow backups and missed recovery objectives that threatened fast, reliable access to educational and administrative data. To address these issues, TCU standardized with Dell Technologies, deploying Dell EMC Data Protection software, Data Domain appliances and virtual edition, Isilon scale‑out storage, and Dell EMC Cloud Disaster Recovery.

Dell Technologies’ solution replicated backups to Microsoft Azure and consolidated protection for 500 VMs and 225 physical servers, delivering measurable gains: RTO of four hours or less, VM backups up to 99% faster (typical VM now 45 seconds), deduplication ratios up to 78:1 (as high as 99.7% savings), 6–8x reduction in backup administration time, and 3x cost savings.
