A Dell Technologies Case Study
NG Bailey, a UK engineering leader, faced a complex, multi-vendor ICT environment that demanded increasing time and effort to monitor and manage — with staff spending over 20% of their time on incidents. To consolidate and modernize, NG Bailey partnered with Dell Technologies and adopted the Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged platform (alongside Dell EMC PowerScale, PowerProtect DP appliances, RecoverPoint for VMs and VMware vSphere) to create a simpler, highly available infrastructure and a cloud‑like consumption model via Dell Financial Services APEX Flex on Demand.
Dell Technologies implemented six-node VxRail clusters across two data centers and integrated storage, backup and recovery solutions, delivering measurable results: management time fell to less than 5% (about 75% less), complex financial transactions dropped from up to two minutes to seconds, backups that took 7–14 hours became almost synchronous, failover times shortened from days or weeks to hours, and NG Bailey expects £400,000 in data center cost savings over five years — improving performance, flexibility and disaster recovery.
