Lafayette Utilities System (LUS), the municipal electric, water and wastewater provider for Lafayette, engaged Dell Technologies during a data center modernization to strengthen data protection and cyber resiliency. Facing the risk of outages from natural disasters and sophisticated cyber threats, LUS adopted Dell PowerProtect solutions—including PowerProtect Data Manager, PowerProtect Cyber Recovery, CyberSense and Transparent Snapshots—to protect customer information and critical infrastructure data.

Dell Technologies deployed PowerProtect Data Manager and PowerProtect Cyber Recovery with CyberSense and Transparent Snapshots to create an isolated recovery vault, detect suspicious activity, and enable efficient multicloud backups. The solution cut Exchange backups from 4 hours to 20 minutes, reduced key application backup windows from 20 hours to 4–5 hours, lowered daily admin tasks by 80%, improved RPOs, and supported outage-mapping analytics—delivering faster restores and stronger operational resilience for LUS.
