A Dell Technologies Case Study
South Washington County Schools, a rapidly growing K–12 district near Saint Paul serving 18,500 students, had selected a Dell Technologies–designed solution based on a four-node Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure to replace end-of-life systems. When COVID-19 created an immediate need to purchase 5,200 Chromebooks for remote learning, the district faced a budget shortfall that threatened to delay the VxRail deployment and two planned IT transformations.
Dell Technologies, via Dell Financial Services, provided a technology-ownership lease that split payments over two fiscal years so the district could buy the VxRail HCI, 5,200 Chromebooks and Dell Technologies ProSupport Enterprise and Deployment Services without increasing its budget. The financing enabled both IT transformations to be completed in weeks rather than a year, halved project time, cut the data center footprint by two‑thirds, boosted IT staff efficiency, reduced risk and ensured students had the IT tools they needed.
