A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Security Service Federal Credit Union Case Study

Saving time and saving money — credit union streamlines and scales without worry

Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU), the largest credit union in Texas with $9.5 billion in deposits and over 750,000 members, needed to simplify and accelerate protection for 180TB of data across disparate databases (Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server) and more than 1,700 virtual servers to meet regulatory requirements and support growth. To solve this, SSFCU engaged Dell Technologies and deployed the Dell EMC Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA).

Dell Technologies implemented the Dell EMC IDPA as a single, consolidated appliance to replace many platform-specific backup tools, giving IT a unified “single pane of glass.” The result: 100% faster backups, deduplication improved from ~20:1 to ~60:1, protected data increased to 215TB, restorations that often take minutes (RTO 24 hours, RPO 4 hours), reduced storage and management costs, and freed staff time for innovation.
