Savills chose Dell Technologies to implement a next-generation data protection solution for its leading real estate business

Savills, a global real estate firm, faced aging backup hardware, a costly Backup‑as‑a‑Service model and new audit/reporting requirements while needing to protect sensitive customer, property and financial data. To modernize its environment and meet those demands, Savills turned to Dell Technologies and adopted Dell PowerProtect Data Manager as part of a hybrid cloud data protection strategy.

Dell Technologies implemented PowerProtect Data Manager with Dell PowerProtect DP series appliances and the Dell Data Protection Suite (Avamar), giving Savills’ DBAs direct control, simplifying compliance and enabling a zero‑downtime upgrade. The solution protects nearly three petabytes of data, delivers dramatic cost savings versus the prior BaaS, achieves a 60:1 deduplication ratio, reduces backup windows (recovering most application servers in 10–20 minutes) and cuts backup times by running jobs on two DP4400 appliances.
