Proektnyi Institut increases engineering productivity and powers 3D modelling collaboration with Dell Technologies edge to core to cloud VDI solution

Proektnyi Institut, a Russia‑based engineering and construction firm with 120 engineers who use AutoCAD 3D, Revit and other 3D visualization tools, faced unreliable, underpowered workstations and wanted to centralize management and boost graphics performance. They turned to Dell Technologies for a VDI-driven modernization, evaluating and selecting Dell’s edge-to-core-to-cloud virtual desktop approach (including Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, Dell Wyse thin clients, VMware Horizon and NVIDIA GRID).

Dell Technologies implemented a VDI solution using Dell EMC PowerEdge rack servers with NVIDIA GRID K1, VMware Horizon broker, Dell Wyse 3040 thin clients and Dell Wyse Management Suite. The deployment delivered higher reliability and performance for 3D modelling for all 120 engineers, centralized image and security management, faster application access, improved collaboration, elimination of lost project files since rollout, and a strong return on investment that reduced IT effort and costs.
