Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a leading oil and gas producer in Pakistan, needed real-time access to data to improve executive decision-making and operational efficiency. To turn its SAP environment into an analytics powerhouse and address slow reporting, PPL selected Dell Technologies to run SAP HANA in a Dell Technologies private cloud.

Dell Technologies, implemented with partner IBL Unisys, deployed a Dell EMC SAP HANA private cloud using Dell EMC PowerEdge R740xd servers, Dell EMC XtremIO all‑flash storage and VMware vCloud Suite (four R740xd at the primary site and two at a secondary site). The solution simplified support and reduced overhead, enabled real‑time analytics and improved business intelligence, and made key reports—including payroll—three to four times faster, while lowering total cost of ownership.
