Case Study: Felton achieves 6x performance and 20% cost reduction with Dell Technologies' Azure Stack HCI

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Felton Case Study

Netherlands-based Felton needed to modernize its aging IT to better provide managed hosting and hybrid cloud services

Felton, a Netherlands‑based managed services provider, needed to modernize aging servers, SAN and networking to improve performance, flexibility and support for its managed hosting and hybrid cloud services. To address these challenges, Felton selected Dell Technologies’ Dell Integrated System for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI (with Dell OpenManage Integration with Microsoft Windows Admin Center) to run its Microsoft‑based workloads and simplify lifecycle management.

Dell Technologies deployed an initial cluster of 14G Dell AX‑740xd nodes (later expanded with 11 15G Dell AX‑750 nodes and additional 14G nodes, plus a 40 Gbps link between data centers) and used OpenManage to streamline updates and deployments. The solution delivered a 6x performance improvement, about 20% overall cost reduction and 10–20% lower licensing costs, enables IaaS at roughly half the cost of public cloud, allows physical node deployment in as little as two hours (vs ~16), and promises another ~20% IOPS gain with the 15G rollout — outcomes achieved with Dell Technologies’ validated support and single‑point contact.
