A Dell Technologies Case Study
Medacist, a U.S. healthcare analytics company and the only U.S. patent holder in drug-diversion analytics, needed to replace a fragmented infrastructure to build a private-cloud SaaS platform capable of supporting latency-sensitive AI and analytics. To modernize its stack and enable real-time insights on its Genesis data platform, Medacist partnered with Dell Technologies and adopted PowerEdge servers, PowerScale storage (Isilon H500) plus OpenManage Enterprise, iDRAC and VMware vSphere/vCenter.
Dell Technologies consolidated Medacist’s compute and storage—deploying PowerEdge R540/R740/R740xd (with NVIDIA GPUs), PowerScale, management tools and VMware—to run Hadoop, Kubernetes, Apache Spark and ML workloads. The result: analytics that once took 24 hours now complete in about 5 minutes, 99.99% uptime that saved millions of dollars, rapid scaling from ~600 to over 2,000 clients with minimal overhead, 13% infrastructure cost savings and a client-reported 120 hours/week time savings, while simplifying multiprotocol data sharing and supporting cloud or on‑prem deployments.
