Case Study: Lancaster University achieves faster, greener research with Dell Technologies PowerStore

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Lancaster University Case Study

Lancaster University tapped modern, softwaredriven Dell PowerStore to support students and researchers campus-wide

Lancaster University, a top-150 global research university in the UK, faced increasingly complex, hard-to-scale storage that slowed collaboration and research work. To modernize its campus-wide infrastructure, Lancaster turned to Dell Technologies and deployed Dell PowerStore (alongside Dell PowerEdge, PowerScale and CloudIQ) to provide a high-speed, flexible, and secure storage foundation for students and researchers.

Dell Technologies implemented PowerStore’s software-driven NVMe storage to simplify management, deliver high bandwidth with low latency, and support block, file, container and cloud workloads with continuous availability. The solution improved collaboration and data access, minimized downtime (allowing maintenance without disrupting long-running jobs), and cut rack space, power and cooling—reducing energy usage and costs—while enabling faster deployments and scalable growth for future research.
