Case Study: Konica Minolta achieves faster, more accurate, less-invasive patient diagnoses with Dell Technologies

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Konica Minolta Case Study

Konica Minolta transforms healthcare with Dell Technologies supporting the development of a dynamic imaging system for medical examinations

Konica Minolta, a global imaging and technology company, sought to expand into healthcare with a Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) product but needed an IT partner to handle fast, reliable processing and large-scale storage of high-speed medical image data. Konica Minolta worked with Dell Technologies, using Dell’s compute and storage solutions to support DDR’s data-intensive imaging and analytics requirements.

Dell Technologies supplied the infrastructure that lets DDR capture high-speed, low‑radiation cine loops, run algorithms for dynamic analysis, and store results for re‑analysis. The solution has delivered measurable benefits—clinicians report faster, more accurate pulmonary diagnoses, exams that take about 5–6 minutes from entry to exit, lower costs versus MRI/CT, easier installation in standard X‑ray rooms, and earlier detection that improves hospital workflow and patient outcomes.
