John Leggott College, an open-access sixth form in Scunthorpe, needed a mobile learning environment so students and teachers could work anytime, anywhere while keeping costs down, meeting sustainability targets and minimizing IT overhead. Following a competitive tender, John Leggott College selected Dell Technologies and deployed a portfolio including Dell Chromebook laptops, Latitude 5000 Series, OptiPlex desktops, Precision workstations and support services such as Dell TechDirect and Dell ProSupport for PCs.

Dell Technologies pre-enrolled and delivered over 1,000 devices and a virtual learning environment (integrating Google Workspace), so students received ready-to-use Chromebooks and staff a single Latitude laptop, while the small IT team only had to connect devices to Wi‑Fi. The rollout improved academic performance (one A‑level class moved from the national middle 50% into the top 25%), 94% of students said access to a device made a vital difference in lessons, teacher productivity rose, overall power consumption fell, and IT staff could focus on core services thanks to rapid ProSupport and TechDirect assistance.
