JANA Investment Advisers, a leading Australian investment consultant advising on about A$500 billion, faced growing regulatory scrutiny, rising cyber threats, long backup windows and dependence on a second physical DR site. To modernize data protection across a hybrid on‑premises and cloud environment, JANA turned to Dell Technologies and evaluated Dell EMC data protection offerings including the IDPA DP4400.

Dell Technologies deployed a Dell EMC IDPA DP4400 24TB appliance to back up on‑prem workloads and replicate to Avamar Virtual Edition and PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition in AWS, tightly integrated with VMware. The single‑vendor solution enabled cloud DR, eliminated the need for a second “warm standby” data center, simplified compliance and DR testing, reduced backup windows, improved visibility with automated alerts, and delivered measurable cost and recovery-time benefits that satisfied JANA’s IT and finance teams.
