Case Study: AIDS Healthcare Foundation achieves 30x faster access to patient records and 99.9999% availability with Dell Technologies PowerMax NVMe storage

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Case Study

Improving care for a million AIDS patients

AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a global nonprofit serving more than 1.1 million people with HIV/AIDS across 43 countries, faced aging storage that slowed access to electronic medical records and critical applications. To modernize and ensure always‑available care, AHF turned to Dell Technologies, deploying NVMe flash storage (Dell EMC PowerMax 2000) plus Dell EMC CloudIQ, Dell EMC Data Domain, Dell Technologies Services and VMware software.

Dell Technologies implemented PowerMax arrays, Data Domain backup appliances, CloudIQ monitoring and professional services to install and optimize the environment, delivering dramatic gains: up to 30x performance, up to 97% lower latencies, 99.9999% availability, an 88% smaller rack footprint, >50% lower power and cooling costs and 8x storage density—while simplifying management, improving replication and reducing backup storage for about 40 TB of data.
