Carron, a construction firm in Italy, faced an aging virtualised three‑tier infrastructure that was slow to recover from outages, lacked the performance for a planned ERP rollout, and did not give its 245 staff flexible remote access to data. To modernise and support the new ERP, Carron worked with Dell Technologies to deploy Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure alongside Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, Dell EMC Networking and a VDI solution.

Dell Technologies implemented VxRail HCI with VMware/vSAN, PowerEdge R740 servers (with NVIDIA GRID for VDI), Dell Networking, and services including ProDeploy Plus, ProSupport and Dell Financial Services leasing. The solution cut end‑of‑month financial report generation by 89% (now 2 days instead of weeks), reduced IT administration time by 50%, lowered TCO by 20%, enabled system recovery in minutes instead of seven days, provided secure anywhere access for staff and preserved cash via OpEx leasing—with estimated operational time savings worth about €280,000.
