Case Study: Konica Minolta achieves early lung-disease detection and global deployment of Kinosis with Dell Technologies OEM Solutions

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Konica Minolta Case Study

How Konica Minolta is working with us to not only build the future of digital healthcare imaging, but precision medicine as well

Konica Minolta, a Japanese multinational with deep imaging and AI expertise, developed Kinosis — a digital X‑ray video system to detect lung disease earlier by showing lung movement and physiological information that static X‑rays miss. To bring Kinosis to market and meet strict healthcare reliability and integration requirements, Konica Minolta partnered with Dell Technologies OEM Solutions as the platform and deployment partner.

Dell Technologies implemented Kinosis on Dell Precision workstations and an OEM XL workstation configuration, providing preloaded OS/BIOS images, standards‑based integration with legacy X‑ray and PACS systems, managed updates and global OEM support. The solution enabled hospitals to generate 300 high‑quality images in 15 seconds (with radiation equivalent to two normal X‑rays), improving detection of conditions like COPD, accelerating diagnosis and treatment, reducing costs, and delivering strong customer satisfaction.
