How Knappschaft Kliniken modernized their infrastructure with the PowerEdge MX providing a new server and network infrastructure

Knappschaft Kliniken Service GmbH, the centralized IT provider for the Knappschaft Kliniken hospital network, needed to combine a planned Citrix software update with a compact, higher-performance server and network refresh to support future growth without consuming more data-center space. To modernize its infrastructure it turned to Dell Technologies, selecting Dell EMC PowerEdge MX740C servers, the MX7000 blade enclosure and MX9116N/MXG610S networking modules.

Dell Technologies deployed 16 PowerEdge MX740C blades across two MX7000 enclosures with MX9116N fabric engines and MXG610S switches, and provided configuration support; the result is a future-ready platform that more than doubled performance, allowed two old blades to be replaced by a single new blade, reduced rack footprint and created clear headroom for growth. Dell Technologies’ solution delivered measurable performance gains and space savings for the hospital network.
