A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Henrico County Public Schools Case Study

Henrico County Public Schools pioneered student-centered learning enabled by technology and continues to deepen that model with a special focus on professional learning for teachers

Henrico County Public Schools, a Virginia district serving more than 51,000 students in 72 schools, wanted to deepen its long-running shift to student-centered, “life-ready” learning by strengthening teacher professional learning and ensuring reliable classroom devices and infrastructure. The district engaged Dell Technologies, using Dell Technologies Professional Learning Services for K–12 Educators and deploying Dell Chromebook 3180 and Dell Latitude 3380 laptops alongside Dell EMC infrastructure.

Dell Technologies combined educator consulting with hardware and infrastructure upgrades: Education Strategists and Professional Learning consultants helped develop the TIP‑C framework, a teacher‑coaching model and the Henrico Learner Profile, while the IT team deployed 17,000 Chromebook 3180s, 34,500 Latitude 3380s and Dell EMC VxRail appliances with Data Domain and Avamar. The result: stronger teacher technology competencies and more student-directed learning, a roughly 67% drop in device repair rates (to about 15%), saved IT staff time and a more resilient, virtualized (99% workloads) infrastructure from Dell Technologies.
