Case Study: GE Healthcare Japan achieves 50% faster deployments and improved imaging diagnosis with Dell Technologies OEM | Embedded & Edge Solutions

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the GE Healthcare Japan Case Study

GE Healthcare Japan migrates a leading system for medical images to a modular infrastructure, thereby increasing deployment speed by 50 percent

GE Healthcare Japan, a provider of radiology and medical-imaging solutions including the Centricity Universal Viewer (UV) 6.0 PACS, needed to migrate its high‑performance imaging system to a consolidated, virtualized platform to support large hospitals that generate up to 150,000 images a year. To meet these reliability, scalability and deployment-speed requirements, GE Healthcare Japan selected Dell Technologies’ OEM | Embedded & Edge Solutions and Dell EMC PowerEdge infrastructure (PowerEdge VRTX with M630 blades and PowerEdge T630 options) running VMware virtualization.

Dell Technologies delivered a compact, all‑in‑one VRTX platform and ProSupport services that let GE Healthcare Japan deploy UV 6.0 faster and more reliably: order fulfillment and time‑to‑implementation improved by more than 50% (under one month vs. over 1.5 months), platform integration time was cut by 66%, and power usage and space requirements fell by up to 66%. The solution supports the required 10 virtual machines and up to 150,000 images, reduced client call‑outs, simplified maintenance and included an extended seven‑year warranty and dedicated support from Dell Technologies.
