Fueling world-class craft beer brewing

New Belgium Brewing, the fourth-largest craft brewery in the U.S., needed to ensure Microsoft SQL Server and other business‑critical applications ran with top performance and uncompromised reliability as it moved toward a hybrid‑cloud strategy. The brewery partnered with Dell Technologies to modernize its infrastructure using Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged systems and Dell EMC Networking switches to boost performance, reliability and IT’s business contribution.

Dell Technologies deployed VxRail clusters and Dell EMC Networking across New Belgium’s data centers, consolidating roughly 200 SQL Server databases and 100 virtual servers on a single hyperconverged platform. The result: an ETL job that once took up to seven hours now completes in 45 minutes, database performance improved as workloads grew, data‑center costs fell about 80% versus leasing, deduplication/compression freed storage and a full‑time DBA was reassigned—freeing IT time to drive business initiatives.
