A Dell Technologies Case Study
ESRI, a global leader in geographic information systems with 3,700 employees across 54 sites, needed a faster, right‑sized way to provision client devices so developers, mobile sales staff and business employees could stay productive. To meet that need ESRI standardized on Dell Technologies hardware (Dell Precision workstations, OptiPlex desktops, Dell Latitude laptops/2‑in‑1s, Dell UltraSharp monitors) and engaged Dell EMC Services to manage global provisioning and Windows 10 Pro configurations.
Dell Technologies, via Dell EMC Services, implemented centralized ordering, customized configurations and right‑sizing of systems and peripherals, and provided rapid support for hardware/BIOS issues and display replacements. The result: delivery time for new hardware dropped from about two weeks to a few days, employee efficiency and satisfaction increased, costs were minimized by avoiding overprovisioning, and ESRI’s developers moved faster in building and validating more than 600 GIS applications.
