Case Study: Unified National Networks achieves 35% lower data center TCO and 99.99% application availability with Dell Technologies

A Dell Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Unified National Networks Case Study

Brunei-based telecommunications provider collaborates with Dell Technologies to advance a connected, digitally powered society

Unified National Networks (UNN), a Brunei-based telecommunications provider, needed to modernize three legacy data centers whose separate compute, storage and networking hindered efficiency, high availability and effective disaster recovery as UNN sought to become a leading cloud services provider and support Brunei’s Vision 2035 Smart Nation goals. UNN partnered with Dell Technologies (with VMware) to deploy a modern cloud foundation using hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including Dell VxRail appliances and VMware vSAN Stretched Cluster software.

Dell Technologies implemented the scalable HCI platform with synchronous data replication across sites, enabling rapid disaster recovery and 99.99% application availability. The modernization reduced data center total cost of ownership by 35%, freed funds for innovation, future-proofed services for 5G, IoT and AI, and helped UNN power countrywide connectivity for over 93,000 homes and support initiatives such as providing 15,000 Dell Latitude laptops to teachers and students.
