ORBCOMM, a global IoT provider that tracks and monitors assets across transportation, construction, maritime and other industries, faced a fragmented, underused intranet as rapid growth and 12 acquisitions in five years left its 21-country workforce dispersed and poorly connected. Needing a modern, searchable, mobile-friendly hub built on its Microsoft 365 strategy, ORBCOMM engaged Dell Technologies Services to design and deliver a new employee intranet on SharePoint Online.
Dell Technologies applied a three‑phased consulting approach—working with ORBCOMM stakeholders, using BindTuning themes/web parts, and delivering templates, short training videos and a content framework—launching the new “Pulse” intranet in 12 weeks. The solution gave employees one source for news, training (ORBCOMM University) and product docs (Product Portal), enabled non-technical teams to post updates within minutes, accelerated Microsoft Teams adoption, kept staff connected during COVID‑19, and earned ORBCOMM an Honorable Mention for exceptional internal communications from Ragan Communications.
