A Dell Technologies Case Study
GKNM Hospital, a major charitable tertiary care center, faced fragmented clinical workflows and a partially paper-based medical record system that limited EMR adoption, scalability and automation. To modernize clinical pathways, eliminate paper dependency and unify IT management, GKNM engaged Dell Technologies (selecting the Dell EMC VxRail solution jointly engineered with VMware) alongside partner RK Infotech to evaluate and standardize the hospital’s infrastructure.
Dell Technologies implemented a consolidated stack—Dell EMC VxRail with VMware, Unity Virtual Storage, Dell TOR switches and RP4VM—performed a one-step firmware upgrade, completed rapid data migration, and trained the IT team while designing DC/DR protection. The result: a paperless-ready EMR environment running 45 VMs at ~80% utilization (a 2.5x increase in VMs and 60% higher utilization), faster operations, improved treatment accuracy and transparency, easier management, and a scalable platform with planned DR replication.
