Verkerk Groep takes care of retention policies with SourceOne

Verkerk Groep, an electronic installation company with 400 staff and sites in Zwijndrecht and Hoevelaken, faced strict legal retention requirements and rapidly growing email volumes—250 mailboxes totaling about 45 GB of Exchange storage filled with large CAD, PDF and image attachments. To automate retention, improve accessibility and relieve pressure on Exchange (previously managed manually and without de-duplication), Verkerk selected Dell EMC’s SourceOne email archiving solution.

Dell EMC, implemented via partner 2e2, deployed EMC SourceOne on a dedicated archive server to index mail and attachments, apply retention policies, and de-duplicate content while leaving shortcuts in users’ mailboxes for transparent access. The result: live Exchange storage was halved (from 45 GB to 22 GB), Exchange performance and backup times improved, automated compliance with multi-year retention was achieved, and users gained recoverable personal archives—delivering clear storage and operational benefits for Verkerk Groep.
