A Dell EMC Case Study
The Centre for Volunteering, the peak body for volunteering in New South Wales, Australia, needed a more reliable, higher-capacity platform to support a proposed national volunteer database and to improve application performance and availability. To address limited redundancy and slow response times in its legacy Dell-based Small Business Server environment, the organization turned to Dell EMC and its VSPEX Proven Infrastructure (including VNXe unified storage, VMware vSphere virtualization, and Cisco UCS servers).
Dell EMC’s VSPEX solution—implemented with support from distributor Ingram Micro and partner Always UP—centralized and virtualized the Centre’s infrastructure, boosting critical application performance by up to 400%, enabling remote connections 200% faster and secure updates 225% faster. The new Dell EMC platform also accelerated SharePoint and Office workloads, created capacity to develop a government-funding application, and positioned the Centre to support a proposed national volunteer-resources project while meeting its needs for the foreseeable future.
