Teikyo University Hospital - Customer Case Study

Teikyo University Hospital engaged Dell EMC to address capacity limits, complex multi‑OS management and the need to accelerate analysis and research ahead of an electronic medical records (EMR) replacement. The hospital selected Dell EMC’s appliance-based web-scale platform—deploying Dell XC web-scale modular appliances (Dell XC Series) and Dell Networking S4048‑ON switches—to provide a scalable, compact and manageable infrastructure for clinical and research workloads.

Dell EMC implemented three Dell XC web‑scale modular appliances (XC630 nodes with Intel Xeon processors), Dell Networking S4048‑ON switches and Nutanix‑based software, replacing the legacy virtualized architecture. The Dell EMC solution cut deployment time to roughly one‑half (implemented in one‑third to one‑half the previous time), lowered platform costs by about one‑third, sped provisioning and fault detection, and enabled faster data analysis and research—improving IT effectiveness and supporting better patient care while backed by Dell ProSupport Plus.
