T2 Systems, a SaaS parking technology provider, faced insufficient IOPS and high latency for its virtualized T2 Flex application and Oracle 11g R2 databases, and its legacy disk-to-disk-to-tape backup could not handle 22 TB of daily backups or provide long-term retention (restores could take over an hour). After evaluating vendors, T2 selected Dell EMC and deployed EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure using EMC VNX unified storage, FAST Suite/FAST Cache, EMC Data Domain, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Cisco servers.

Dell EMC’s VSPEX solution with a Flash‑first strategy and Data Domain deduplication accelerated virtualized Oracle batch processing (80% of Oracle I/O served from Flash that comprises only 2% of capacity), cut backup times by 50% and improved restore times by 75%, reduced RTO from one hour to five minutes, enabled near‑infinite data retention, and lowered OpEx by halving power and space requirements.
